i finally made it to stockholm. well with 20 hours delay but i will never forgett this inspiring trip from jfk via kef to arn.

went very well. people had hard to understand my process but at least there was a process going on.

got some good input to decide a final shape fro my pod.

seems like everybody works likewise hardly on their project. motivating to work with busy people.

trying to get from ny to sthlm.
active volcano in iceland and a strike of the ground staff is making live pretty hard!

nice site here at keflaki airport. evereywhere are people sleeping on the benches and beside every power plug is sitting someone and charges his iPhone© or his MacBook© and works.

Seems like in a situation like that people are quiet inventing and easygoing salong they find a place to sit/lay to sleep or work. People have a great loyality to their work and timetables. Feels nice to not be the only one who has to work 24/7 to get their job done!

new positive noise:

I like all the sounds of the city as long as they are not disturbed by cars and traffic sound. That's why the best moment in the city is the Sunday morning. I don't understand why our contemporary society accepts the killing dominance of the traffic, in everything, sound, view, smelling, accesibility,... . I love the sound of a bird in the city because it is exceptional, there are bird but it is if they don't sing, or the sound of happy children who are playing, something difficult to find nowadays. I suppose everything that has a human sound. Silence, clinking of cups of coffee, people speaking and laughing.

I suppose that is why many people like the Historical Centres in a city, or the parks, or the riversides. Places where the dominance of the traffic noise is not that much.

i met nina today. was a really good meeting. gave me some new points of views but also confirmation in my ideas:

noise:
outside, in the city, from long distance, movement, traffic, people, happenings, public spaces, way to destination, avoid / appreciate noise, living in the city, noise synphony

pod:
inside-outside, soft-hard, sitt/lay/stand, rubber-felt, shape after function and ergonomy inside, light: deep-midrange-high, choose noise after need in the moment, choose by testing what is needed

well,
i love when it's raining and outside my univrsity there are some roofs made in tinplate...overthere you can listen an amazing melody of the water mixed with that material!!!.
and also when I love when i'm near the central train station I can always hear the sound of a train that is going away and a dog that is barking to someone.
